West Ham United aim to keep in touch with Jermain Defoe while he's in Canada with the MLS's Toronto FC.
The Mail on Sunday says the Hammers will try and get Defoe back from Toronto for the first few months of the new season.
QPR's promotion also raises the prospect of Defoe working again with Harry Redknapp in a loan spell from TFC.
