West Bromwich Albion are stepping up their pursuit of QPR winger Matty Phillips.

The London Evening Standard says Tony Pulis is leading the chase for Phillips and is ready to start bidding at £5m.

The West Brom boss is looking to build on his solid first few months at the helm of the Baggies and Phillips can offer pace, creativity and the occasional wondergoal.

While Hoops boss Chris Ramsey wants to keep the Scotland international at Loftus Road, West Brom are hopeful that they can convince them to sell a player who has shown he has the quality to perform in the top flight.
