Villarreal president Fernando Roig is delighted he managed to keep hold of midfielder Santi Cazorla.
Two years ago, Cazorla stunned Spanish football by turning down Real Madrid on transfer deadline day.
Roig recalled: "(Ramon) Calderon wanted Cazorla, but I could not afford to lose him. He always talked about him, but we wanted to keep him and we did it.
"I am convinced that we can do something important in the future. If we find a collective agreement for television rights, then it is also possible for small teams like us to challenge for the title."
