Veteran stopper Andy Marshall is hoping to join a Championship club after being released by Aston Villa. Marshall joined Villa on a one-year contract from Coventry City last summer, but he failed to make a first-team appearance for Martin O'Neill's side.
The 35-year-old has confirmed he has been let go by Villa and is now looking to prolong his career.
"I've enjoyed my time at Villa, but I've been released now and I'm looking for a new club," Marshall told the Sunday Mercury.
"I still think I've got a few years left in me.
"I'm keeping my options open, but I want to stay at a high level and it would be nice to be in the Championship."
