TRIBAL TRENDS - TRANSFERS: Bale to Man Utd?; Can Barcelona lure both Coutinho and Dembele?; Real Madrid want Chelsea star Hazard?;

With the amount of rumours swirling around at this time of year, it is sometimes difficult to decipher the truth. These are matters of importance.

As the transfer talk is now coming to it's conclusion, there are enormous amounts of speculation swirling around Europe and the UK.

Not to worry however, because here at Tribalfootball, we have broken down the week's hottest transfer rumours, and inform you whether you should believe the paper talk or not.

Here are our top five trending transfer stories for the past week:

Gareth Bale - Real Madrid

Clubs Interested: Manchester United

This week was filled with talk about Gareth Bale heading to Manchester United.

According to ABC, Jose Mourinho had been informed by his intermediaries that the Welshman was being made available by Real Madrid for the lowly price of €100m.

Bale has been just a small piece of the champion Real side that Zinedine Zidane has built. For the €100m Los Blancos paid Tottenham for his services in 2013, Bale has hardly set the world on fire - yes, he's done well, but has been at Ronaldo's level? At Messi's level? Even Modric's?

The dissatisfaction with him as a whole is definitely present within the Real board, but is the player himself unhappy to be in Madrid?

It certainly did not seem the case following Real's win over Manchester United in the European Super Cup finalon Tuesday. He categorically stated his intent to remain at the Bernabeu following the victory.

Bale was obviously excited about the win, but it looked like more than that, he looked at peace, somewhat content with the way his career was panning out. I mean after winning three Champions League medals you wouldn't blame him.

He may head back to the Premier League one day, but I have a hunch it will be with Tottenham. It's a shame for Mourinho because Bale is the prototype player for his system.

Likelihood: Zero

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund)

Clubs Interested: Barcelona

According to Diario Gol, Barcelona have launched a bid of €160m for two players.

Following the departure of Neymar for 222m euros, the Blaugrana have targeted Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele.

The Catalan giants are nervous given their horrendous transfer window so far. They would have to be. At this point in time, their replacement for the Brazilian is Gerard Deulofeu.

It has since emerged following Diario Gol's report that both players club's have rejected bids that exceeded €80m.

Neymar's world-record, and frankly obscene, transfer fee is ruining Barcelona in more ways than one. Now the market has become so inflated that 100m euros won't get them the players they want. Clubs know they possess a treasure chest and they want a greater share of the loot.

Dembele has seemingly gone on strike since Dortmund rejected Barca's bid. The Frenchman failed to report to training on Thursday, confirmed by BVB boss Peter Bosz. Will Dortmund pay his wages while he sits in exile?

Jurgen Klopp and FSG are determined to hold onto Coutinho, no matter what the offer is. So far, the diminutive playmaker has not said he wants to leave. Until he does, like Dembele has, he will remain at Anfield for the foreseeable future.

Likelihood: Half the prize

Eden HazardChelsea

Clubs Interested: Real Madrid

Don Balon reports that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been in contact with Chelsea star Eden Hazard in order to organise a catch-up.

During the conversation, Hazard supposedly told Zidane that he was keen to move to the Bernabeu and he would be prepared to tell the Chelsea board his intentions.

Real have their sights set on Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, but unlike Hazard, he is not willing to force a move.

Hazard is arguably Chelsea's most important player. If Neymar were sold for 222m euros, then how much would Hazard cost?

However, it isn't surprising to hear that Hazard is ready for a new challenge. The Belgian has been at Stamford Bridge since 2012 and won two Premier League titles and the Europa League.

I'm going to call it and say he will move to Real Madrid – just not this summer.

Likelihood: Look out 2018

Alex Oxlade-ChamberlainArsenal

Clubs Interested: Liverpool, Chelsea

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain dropped a huge hint he could be on his way to Liverpool.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Arsenal winger 'liked' a post on social media that said he was on his way to Anfield.

The 23-year old has one-year to run on his contract, which has lead to persistent speculation linking him with a move away from the Gunners. Chelsea have also been listed as a potential destination.

I don't buy it though. With Arsenal's new system, Oxlade-Chamberlain will pay considerably more and that's all he's ever wanted. If he doesn't work out for him however, then he can sign wherever he wants next summer.

Likelihood: Maybe next year

Marco AsensioReal Madrid

Clubs Interested: Juventus

Diario Gol reports that Marco Asensio is mulling over a move to Juventus.

The Real Madrid is desperate to play regularly this season, with a spot in Spain's World Cup firmly in his sights.

But would he be guaranteed that time with the Old Lady?

The Turin club have signed wingers Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi this summer. It just wouldn't make sense for them, or Asensio, to get the move done.

Likelihood: None
