Tottenham winger Andros Townsend admits he let himself down over his gambling.
Townsend, 21, was this week banned by the FA for one month, ruling him out of England's Euro Under-21s squad. He also copped another three-month ban - suspended for three years - and was fined £18,000.
He confessed he was "naive and stupid" for gambling on TV matches:
"I was so stupid. I was naive to not understand I was breaking the rules and now I've paid a heavy price. I'm so angry with myself."
Townsend also told The Sun: "I have no one else to blame for this other than myself. I was a fool. Football clubs and the FA educate players on the betting regulations that are in place.
"I want to work with them to see how I can help warn youngsters of the consequences of breaching them."
