Title challenge not so far-fetched says Arsenal legend Wright

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that a title challenge is within the Gunners' grasp if they can keep performing like they did in the 3-0 win against Manchester United.

The Gunners defeated the Red Devils in some fashion on Sunday to leapfrog them into the second position in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Manchester City, indicating to Wright that perhaps Arsene Wenger's side are now a serious title contender.

"The biggest test of the biggest teams is how they bounce back from adversity, and let's be honest, Arsenal needed a reaction quickly after Wednesday's shocker against Olympiakos," Wright wrote in his column for The Sun.

"If they'd slipped up against Manchester United, you can imagine the headlines — they have been bad enough after their European flop.

"Well talk about the perfect answer, because 20 minutes in at the Emirates yesterday and they were three up, United were on the ropes and the points were in the bag.

"Those goals were textbook Arsenal, superb passing moves and brilliant finishes. Third place and perhaps that title dream isn't so far fetched after all."
