Sydney FC captain McFlynn maintaining positive outlook

Sydney FC captain Terry McFlynn says the club will remain positive despite slumping to their fifth straight loss last night.

The Sky Blues were beaten 2-0 by Adelaide United in front of a crowd of more than 16,000 at Adelaide Oval, keeping the reigning champions on the bottom of the table.

McFlynn knows that things are not panning out well for his club but insists that being optimistic is the only way to get out of this current rut.

"I thought we started the game well but again we copped a goal just on half time which hurt us and we couldn't get back into it despite throwing everything at it. We'll keep our heads up and keep going," McFlynn said.

"There are a number of factors (for the season). We didn't get off to a good start and confidence has been down but we go back to the drawing board now and get up for Newcastle on Monday."
