Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins will push Michael Laudrup to upgrade his contract in the coming weeks.
The Daily Mail says Jenkins is reluctant to let the issue go unresolved into the summer and is pushing to bring Laudrup to the negotiating table early next month with a view to protecting his investment.
Rodgers' departure to Liverpool last summer triggered a release clause in the region of £5million, but Laudrup's £500,000-a-year deal is not believed to offer anything like the same level of compensation should Real Madrid come calling.
