The push to knight Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is gaining government support.
The Daily Mail says families of the 96 people who died in the Hillsborough tragedy 22 years ago have been given parliamentary support in their bid to have Liverpool manager Dalglish knighted.
A motion was tabled by Liverpool Walton MP Steve Rotheram two weeks ago, on the anniversary of English football's darkest day, citing Dalglish's 'outstanding contribution' to the game.
The move has been backed by 12 other MPs from both Labour and the Conservative parties.
The families believe a knighthood would be a fitting tribute to the man who helped the club and the region through the traumatic months which followed the stadium disaster in 1989.
