Sunderland striker Altidore confident scoring "plenty of goals"

Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore is confident of hitting the goals trail this season.

Altidore scored 39 goals in two season with AZ, bringing him to the attention of Paolo Di Canio and his new team of scouts who have been replenishing the Sunderland playing stocks this summer.

"I'm confident I'm going to score goals in the PL, I'm a striker so yes I'm going to score goals. I don't set myself targets but I'm expected to score goals and that's what I'll do," he told the Daily Mail.

"If we keep playing like this I'm going to hopefully score a lot of goals. This is a team that will create chances for me.

"When I came over to the PL last time, I was just 19 and had no experience of European football. Since then I think my record speaks for itself.

"The Premier League itself feels just the same as four years ago, it's just as tough and fiercely high tempo and intense with a tremendous atmosphere. For me, it's the best league in the world."
