Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell is trialling with Vitesse Arnhem.

The Daily Mail says Rodwell has gone on trial at Dutch outfit and Chelsea partners Vitesse Arnhem.

The England international has no future at Sunderland after they held discussions about ripping up his contract.

Rodwell, who has been training on his own, earns £70,000 per week in the Championship and has 18 months left on his five-year contract.

The former Manchester City and Everton defender has been left in the cold this season, making just two appearances in the Championship.
