Liverpool are eyeing West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
The Daily Mail says Liverpool are back in the frame despite being quoted £15m by West Ham earlier this month. Sunderland are also interested.
Liverpool want a striker to take the burden off Fernando Torres's shoulders. They have been rebuffed in their efforts to sign PSV Eindhoven's Ola Toivonen and hope to be armed with more cash from Javier Mascherano's sale.
They can offer around £6.5m for Cole but, while the player would want the move, West Ham will want a lot more cash.
