Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is ready to splash out on three Argentine signings.
The Daily Mail says Poyet is close to bringing defender Santiago Vergini to Sunderland while his compatriots, Catania goalkeeper Mariano Andujar and Internacional attacking midfielder Ignacio Scocco are expected to follow.
Poyet is to continue recruiting and said: "A deal is close for Vergini but not done yet. He's big, so he's good for England. Andujar? I like him and we have made an approach to Catania to sign him."
