Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino expects fans to give Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood a warm reception upon his return to White Hart Lane.

Sherwood played for Spurs and had a key role in the club's youth development, before taking the reins as head coach following Andre Villas-Boas' sacking in December 2013.

"I expect a very good reception because he is a manager that worked here and spent a lot of time here, like a player and as manager," Pochettino said.

"He helped the academy to develop young talent and I hope he gets a very good reception from the supporters because I think he deserves that."
