Jan Vertonghen has warned Ajax not to price him out of a move to England this summer.

The Belgium defender is a target for Tottenham and Arsenal.

Vertonghen, 25, has threatened to see out the final 12 months of his Ajax deal and leave on a Bosman if the Dutch club fail to sell him this summer.

The defender added: "Ajax are asking a lot of money for somebody with just one year left on their contract.

"England is my preferred destination but if needed I will see out my contract and leave on a free transfer next year."
