Schalke are preparing to sell Joel Matip to Newcastle United.

BIILD says Schalke expect to sell the Cameroon international defender to Newcastle this week.

Newcastle are set to offer €14 million to close the deal, with Schalke not standing in Matip's way.

The 23 year-old played 27 games for Schalke last season, scoring twice.

Matip has spent his entire pro career with Schalke.
