Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia has revealed he's held transfer talks with the club's backer, Ellis Short.

"It's difficult to plan with the uncertainty over the club's status but we're looking at who we're going to keep on contract, who we're going to let go and we've got a meeting set up," said Sbragia.

"We have to plan ahead and plan that we will stay up. We're identifying players so I tend to go out and see the players I've had recommended. I spoke to Ellis Short last week and he was fine but we've not spoken about a transfer budget as yet."
