San Jose Earthquakes' Wondolowski secures MLS Golden Boot

Chris Wondolowski managed to complete a late comeback to take out the 2010 MLS Golden Boot award. The 27-year old forward netted six goals in his final four matches to move to 18 which allowed him to run down LA Galaxy's Edson Buddle who scored three goals in the same timeframe but was left on 17 goals as he failed to score in the final game of the regular season yesterday.

Wondolowski's tally was a career-high, surpassing the 13 he scored for the Houston Dynamo in 2007 and his performances this season have seen him become a strong candidate for the league MVP award.

He managed to score San Jose's last 10 goals of the season, breaking a MLS record and allowing the club to qualify for play-offs for the first time since they rejoined the league in 2008.
