Delio Rossi has paid tribute to Palermo fans after his dismissal this week.
Rossi was shown the door after Sunday's 7-0 home humiliation by Udinese.
"The club told me around 13:30 yesterday," Rossi explained. "Seeing that I am not practiced in these things, I asked what I had to do.
"They told me that there wasn't any need to sign anything. But I wanted to come and salute you. I would have liked a Press Conference at Boccadifalco, but the team had already left.
"In any case, I would like to once again thank all the Palermo fans and the team.
"I think that the story had already been written for some time. But I am upset about this epilogue. It doesn't suit me to say anything about what happened. Perhaps in a moment of calm, at the end of the season, I will reveal how it went.
"It's obvious that the personal criticism bothered me. There is no problem on a professional level, but on a personal level I don't want anyone to criticise me. Someone can say that I am not a good Coach, but not that I am not a good person."
