Roma have denied claims from Cagliari president Massimo Cellino that they've agreed a co-ownership deal for winger Mauro Esposito.

"With regard to the news released by the Press, we wish to highlight that the two clubs have not reached any agreement over the player at this date," read a note released by the Giallorossi.

"No deal has been struck on a joint ownership of the player and, as a consequence, no agreement has been finalised with the footballer himself.

"Esposito remains an interesting objective for the club and the technical staff, along with other players, and Roma will inform the market of any future developments in any negotiation."
