AS Roma chief Franco Baldini admits Daniele de Rossi faces punishment after being sent off during their derby defeat to Lazio.

Roma played the entire second half with 10 men after De Rossi was sent off for punching Stefano Mauri.

"The club's position is clear, as in these cases players can be fined based on how long they are going to be suspended," said director general Baldini.

"I spoke to Daniele before the game and he wanted to do well, so was really determined to achieve a positive result. Perhaps seeing Lazio fight back to go in front brought this reaction out of him.

"Are we considering offers for De Rossi? Nothing has changed compared to the summer. I have always said that there is no need to sell Daniele and we do not want to sell him."
