Redknapp convinced Cooper in doubt at Forest

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp feels Steve Cooper is fighting for his job at Nottingham Forest.

Redknapp was speaking after Forest's 1-0 home defeat to Everton.

He said, "Steve Cooper's under no illusion, he's been in the game long enough. He knows the price of being a manager and going on that kind of form, he knows. This is how football is. You've already got a situation with the owner, they're not really jelling that well it seems, there's always rumours coming out of the club which I don't like. I'm sure that Steve will probably think to himself, if they were to fire me, he'll get another great job.

"There's absolutely no doubt, he's the sort of manager that won't be out of football for long. That record in itself is not good enough, Steve knows that things have to change really quickly otherwise there's no doubt he'll lose his job. Look at the job he has done, when he took over in the Championship and took them over to where they are now.

"What a job, there's not a lot of managers in the world of football that could have done that. Right now, with that run of form, it's wretched and he knows that. If they're looking for an excuse, looking for a reason to change it, now would certainly be the time."
