Real Madrid wing-back Royston Drenthe has played down talk of a January switch to Chelsea.

After a rare appearance in last night's Bernabeu Trophy victory over Partizan Belgrade, Drenthe said: "I am player of Madrid and I am going to be so all this season, as a minimum.

"I have five years on my contract and I want to succeed here. I have not sent anybody to Chelsea to discuss a move there. I do not know from where this has come from."
