Real Madrid star Gareth Bale admits he sought out Loris Karius after beating Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Bale proved to be the match-winner in Kiev despite starting on the bench.

The former Tottenham forward says didn't see much of the Liverpool team later that night but he did console Karius.

He told the Daily Mail: “I just said, "Keep your head up".

“Mistakes happen. It's just unfortunate it's in a final.

“Yes, I suppose it's not quite as bad as it looked but I suppose he should save it."

Karius has since been offloaded on-loan to Besiktas.
