Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is happy to see Barcelona sign Yerry Mina next month.
Barca have an option for the Palmeiras defender, with plans of a summer deal now being brought forward for January.
Don Balon says James Rodriguez, currently on-loan with Bayern Munich, has spoken regularly with Perez about Mina's qualities and urged the Real supremo to sign his Colombia teammate.
However, the response from Perez has been negative. The president has told James the feedback from scouts is that Mina just isn't at a level to make a difference and he'll be happy to see the defender join Barca next month.
It's claimed Barca coach Ernesto Valverde is of the same opinion, which is why he is pushing to block Javier Mascherano's departure in the New Year.
