Real Madrid are preparing a bid for Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

Jorge Valdano, who will Florentino Perez's GM should he win the Real Madrid election, is already working on a new signings - with two new fullbacks top of the agenda.

On the left, Valdano is chasing Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra and Arsenal's Gael Clichy, while for the right, Maicon has emerged as Perez's top target.

Maicon is tied to Inter until 2012.
