PSG midfielder Thiago Motta is set for talks with Atletico Madrid.

The former Barcelona midfielder travelled to the capital by Spain's high-speed AVE train with his agent, Alessandro Canovi, and arrived at Atocha at 17:30 hours yesterday, says AS.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone hopes to bring in an experienced, veteran player – one with personality.

Motta, who was brought to Europe in 1999 by Barcelona during the Joan Gaspart era, spent a season on the books at Atlético. He joined in the 2006-07 season after finding himself frozen out of the side at Camp Nou.
