PSG chief Leonardo blasts media over Ramos axe claims as Real Madrid great struggles

Paris Saint Germain sports chief Leonardo has rubbished claims they plan to dump Sergio Ramos.

The former Real Madrid captain joined Paris Saint Germain in August on a free transfer, but is yet to make his debut due to a series of niggling injuries.

There's been speculation that Paris Saint Germain could now release Ramos from his contract. But Leonardo has rubbished the claims, accusing the local media of following the lead of their Spanish counterparts, reports Le 10 Sport.

Leonardo snapped: "The Spanish press says that there is a problem with Ramos and you play the game of the Spanish press. They want to say he sucks and help you.

"But we know everything, we know where our players are, we know it! So it's a bit too much."

Ramos has a deal with PSG to 2023. The Spain defender moved to Paris Saint Germain in the final weeks of the summer market after waiting on a final decision from Real Madrid about extending his contract. As such, the veteran missed preseason with his new club.

Despite his absence, Paris Saint Germain has established themselves as runaway leaders in Ligue 1, as they sit eight points clear of second-place Nice at the top of table.
