Portsmouth's £6 million asking price for John Utaka has proved too rich for Rennes.

After a promising start to his Pompey career Utaka has lost his place in the first team and has appeared in only 10 Premier League matches this season.

Rennes are keen to have Utaka back but unless Portsmouth drop their asking price he seems destined to remain at Fratton Park.
