Portsmouth have missed out on signing Croatian forward Nikola Kalinic.
The Hajduk Split man flew to England but left without signing a deal after the two clubs could not agree a transfer fee.
It is understood Split do not want Pompey to sprinkle the £5.5million fee over three years.
