The People says Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is ready to offload Chimbonda and managerless Portsmouth are willing to pay £2.5m for the Frenchman to replace Glen Johnson, sold to Liverpool for £18m.
Several French clubs are also keen on the former Wigan Athletic fullback.
