Pochettino questions integrity of Barcelona legend Xavi

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has questioned the integrity of Barcelona legend Xavi.

Pochettino has never been fond of ex-Barcelona midfielder Xavi and the former Espanyol defender has now gone on to rekindle his bitter rivalry with the Spanish legend.

The Tottenham boss stated that Xavi was able to manipulate the referees as well as the media during his playing days and recalled a time when he conned the official to win a penalty for Barcelona during a clash against Pochettino's Espanyol back in 2009.

Pochettino said: “We remembered the game where Xavi cheated the referee. He fell, it wasn't a penalty, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored for Barcelona and they won.

“The defender was Raul Baena. Xavi fell down and said 'penalty', and they gave a penalty. It was very funny because the video showed no one touched him. Everyone in the media was saying it was a penalty. It goes from lie to lie to lie."
