Petras: Hamsik could return to Napoli; they chose wrong with Garcia

Former Napoli captain Marek Hamsik admits he'd like to return to his old club.

Martin Petras, a former Lecce and Hearts defender who is close to Hamsik, raised the idea when speaking to Radio Crc.

"You can hypothesise always, it's right. Marek is doing this job great with Calzona in the national team. In the locker room there must be a bridge between the club and the management," he said.

"I feel like saying, Hamsik will always remain linked to Napoli, then I don't know if they have spoken. Then it must be said that in a locker room, a person doesn't just come to take photos, he wants to make decisions like (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic at Milan.

"There are clubs in Italy that when they have to buy a footballer, 5 of them sit at the table and if the majority agrees, they talk to the president and he gives the green light or not. Then if someone wants to do everything himself, in my opinion football isn't done like that today.

"We cannot continue with the methodology of 10 years ago, things are changing. If you have to fire the coach after 10 days, you made the wrong choice. For me, after the Scudetto, Napoli had to hire a coach of the utmost importance, then if they reject them it means that something in the club isn't working. It looked like (Igor) Tudor was going to arrive, but things were turned around in one day."
