England U21 boss Stuart Pearce is set to be named as part of Fabio Capello's backroom staff.

The Sunday Mirror says former England captains Alan Shearer and Tony Adams have sparked the most interest among fans and media commentators. There has also been a lobby of support for Aidy Boothroyd, the bright young Watford manager.

But Pearce, who has enjoyed a remarkable time as Under-21 coach, has agreed to join Capello's staff. He has also insisted he's not ready to step down as the Under-21's coach.
