Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini admits defender Andrea Barzagli could easily have been preparing to face them with Juventus this weekend.

"Juve were unsettling Barzagli for over a year," said Zamparini. "They really wanted him and I was ready to let him leave.

"But then I had a change of mind."

Meanwhile, the Palermo supremo also revealed: "I think we may offer a new contract to Amauri."
