Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park pitch is set to be relaid.
Joe Ledley was the latest Palace star to moan about the poor condition of the playing surface following a similar complaint from James McArthur, while manager Neil Warnock has admitted that work on the pitch "can't come soon enough for the players".
"It is like treading on sand at the moment," said Warnock.
"Especially down the flanks, it is more difficult for Yannick Bolasie, Wilfried Zaha and Jason Puncheon to sustain their level.
"We are going to returf it after the Boxing Day game. I am pleased about that. We have had a problem all season.
"The groundsman and the club have done everything but they realise we can't do any more. It can't come soon enough for the players."
