Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could hand Michael Owen a new contract.
The Telegraph says a decision has yet to be made on Owen's future, but having named the former England striker on the bench against Barcelona, Ferguson is believed t be considering offering the 31 year-old a one-year contract in order to retain his experience within the United squad.
Ferguson plans to talk to Owen this week about his situation.
