Ousmane Dembele admits Thomas Tuchel was a big influence on his decision to sign for Borussia Dortmund.
The Rennes striker chose BVB over offers from Liverpool, Leicester City and Barcelona.
"The coach and the officials called me and told me they wanted to sign me," said Dembele, who will wear the number seven for the Black-and-Yellows.
“The coach was very important for me because I liked what he has planned for the team. I like that this includes young players.
“He told me that if I work hard, I'll get to play. He was very convincing and contributed to my decision."
Dembele also revealed that he had made contact with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, another former Ligue 1 star who has shone at Dortmund since arriving in 2013.
“I talked to Aubameyang on the telephone," added the youngster. “He told me that BVB is a great club. Then I came here and saw the club's great infrastructure for myself.
“It's incredible to have 80,000 people watching you in the stadium. For me it's amazing and impressive. It was another reason for me to play for this great club."
