AS Roma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has made an appeal to fans ahead of tonight's derby against Lazio.

Lazio are above Roma on the Serie A table going into the clash.

"Of course the derby can be a fundamental game and not just because of what it means as a stand-alone clash," Osvaldo told Roma Channel.

"I think it could give us an extra gear to go forward. We have never lacked determination, although in some matches we played well for 30-35 minutes and then I cannot fathom why we just changed attitude.

"We need to be more determined and consistent, not letting go psychologically. We have to change mentality.

"My message to the fans is that we need you. You always give us that extra push, so cheer us on to the end and we will give it our all."
