Nugent knows Portsmouth battle even tougher after striker signings

David Nugent knows the arrivals of Jermain Defoe and Milan Baros at Portsmouth has made life even tougher for him.

"Defoe and Baros played well together against Chelsea and will probably start together against Bolton on Saturday," Nugent told the club's official website.

"I need to impress in training if I want to get another chance.

"I've played with Jermain before when we met up with England. I came on for about 20 minutes and robbed his goal!

"He's a fantastic player and he deserves his latest England call-up.

"Milan Baros is another good signing, he's scored a few goals in The Premier League before.

"[Lassana] Diarra is something special, he looks class in training and has done well in every game that he's played."
