Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted with what he's seen from his young players in preseason. Pardew has been keen to test his youngsters while in Germany.

"The young players are another year down the line - the likes of Tav (James Tavernier) and Sammy Ameobi in particular.

"Those two have been outstanding. Mehdi got his first goal for the club and Haris showed his quality.

"They're the players that this tour is all about."
