Jose Mourinho has asked Real Madrid to explore the sensational prospect of signing Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. El Mundo Deportivo says Mourinho knows it would be difficult, but he has requested Real's directors to sound out Barca about Ibra's availability.
Mourinho isn't confident Karim Benzema can handle being his chosen No9, as he enjoyed with Didier Drogba at Chelsea and Diego Milito at Inter. Instead, the Special Juan sees Ibra as the ideal centre-forward to lead his line this coming season.
The amazing transfer would take another twist, however, if Barca fail to prise Cesc Fabregas away from Arsenal.
Indeed, Real see that prospect as being a clincher in the deal. Mourinho would happily offer Kaka in exchange for Ibrahimovic - and with no midfield signing, he is confident Barca would be open to the amazing swap.
