Manchester United produced a strong display at the Etihad Stadium to force a 0-0 draw with Manchester City tonight.
United boss Jose Mourinho felt his players showed plenty of spirit and character to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 24 matches.
"I thought my players showed amazing spirit. We controlled easily the game in the first half and we were always dangerous in counter attack," he said on Sky Sports.
"We had two good chances to score. They fouled Marcus [Rashford] lots of times.
"Then in the second half I think they were stronger than us. In second half we didn't create them any problems in attack and let them feel that they could win.
"I have to defend the spirit of my players. They were amazing and I am really pleased."
