Ross Turnbull insists his friendship with Brad Jones hasn't come under threat as they've battled for the No1 spot at Middlesbrough.

"It's always good to have a good relationship with each other because you have got to help each other," said Turnbull.

"Whether that situation is at every club, I don't know, but I prefer it the way it is rather than us not speaking to one another, which you have heard in the past has happened before.

"Brad and me are good friends on and off the field, and it is just good competition for both of us.

"I have loved every minute of it. I just want to play football and it has been a fantastic experience playing week in, week out. It's not easy, but I have enjoyed it."
