Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren insists he's not seeking to sell anymore fringe players.

Mehdi Abeid left for Panathinaikos this week.

“We've no intention right now of selling anyone," McClaren told the Evening Chronicle. “I am pleased with the work we have done this summer.

"It was a statement of intent by Mike Ashley before the last game of last season. He did his interview and has followed that up now. Six or seven weeks ago, people were doubting him but he has signed quality."
