Darren Fletcher is expected to leave Manchester United this week, despite a pay-off dispute.
The Daily Mail says United have told his agent that Fletcher can leave immediately, but are reluctant to pay off his contract.
United believe that not asking for a fee is a sufficient gesture of goodwill towards Fletcher, who is nearing a 20th anniversary with the club he signed for as an 11-year-old.
West Ham United are waiting for the dispute to be settled as they seek to add the Scot to Sam Allardyce's squad in the coming days.
