Man Utd midfielder Carrick slates World Cup ball

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is no fan of the World Cup ball.

It is also fairly lightweight compared to balls that have been used in the past.

But England and Manchester United midfielder Carrick feels it is threatening to turn the World Cup finals into a lottery.

He said: "The new ball is not great. It is a bit like a beach ball.

"You cannot trust it really. With some of the goals you set the ball going off in one direction and then it moves in another.

"As soon as you put any pass into the air it turns into a lottery."
