Manchester United remain in contact with Desportivo Brasil striker Bruno Gomes.

Gomes has been linked with Udinese and Sao Paulo this season.

The Daily Star says Gomes, who was on trial with the Premier League champions last summer, was widely expected to join United when he turned 18, but as of yet no deal has materialised.

According to reports in Brazil, United are still Gomes' first choice destination despite Sao Paulo desperate to tie up a deal.

United still hold first refusal over Gomes, however the club's rights to sign the Desportivo Brazil youngster do not apply if a bid is received above a certain level.
