Manchester United and Chelsea are in contact with Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba.

The Spain left-back's agent launched an attack on Barca management today over his contract situation.

Sport says Chelsea and United are aware of Alba's frustration and have registered their interest. At United, the defender is seen as a replacement for Luke Shaw. Chelsea, meanwhile, fancy Alba if Marcos Alonso is tempted back to Spain.

Both clubs have been tracking Alba for over 18 months and are now firming up their interest.

His agent, Vicente Forés, told Sport: "Raül Sanllehi (now with Arsenal) was still with the club when they told us not to worry, that they were going to call us to renew.

"But we're still waiting and we've been like that for a year and a half."
